Mr. S. Sankarasubramanian is the Managing Director and CEO of Coromandel International Limited, one of India’s leading agri-solutions providers and part of the Murugappa Group. A Mathematics graduate from the University of Madras, he is a member of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of India and an alumnus of the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.

With over three decades of diverse experience in finance, strategy, and general management, Mr. Sankar has played a pivotal role in shaping Coromandel’s growth journey. He began his career with E.I.D. Parry (India) Limited in 1993 and joined Coromandel in 2003. He served as Chief Financial Officer and later led the company’s flagship Nutrient business as Executive Director, before taking over as MD & CEO.

Under his leadership, Coromandel has accelerated its transformation from a fertiliser-focused company to an integrated agri-solutions provider with strong play across crop protection, specialty nutrients, organic fertilisers, retail, and emerging areas like drone-based services, nano technology, and mining. He has also driven large-scale investments in manufacturing, digital initiatives, and sustainability-focused projects, reinforcing Coromandel’s position as a forward-looking leader in Indian agriculture.

Mr. Sankar serves on the boards of several domestic and international entities including Tunisian Indian Fertiliser S.A. (Tunisia), Foskor (South Africa), and key Coromandel subsidiaries. He is widely recognised for his sectoral insights, policy advocacy, and strategic leadership across the agri-inputs value chain.
