FAI Awards 2017

FAI GOLDEN JUBILEE AWARDS

 1. Award for Excellence for the Best Work done in the field of “Efficient Nutrient Management 

Nature of the Award: Rs.2,00,000/-, Gold Medal and Citation. 

Purpose of the Award: To create incentive for high quality research amongst scientists in India in the field of “Efficient Nutrient Management”  

Eligibility of the Award: All research scientists working in India are eligible for the award.  The assessment shall be based on their published research work during the past 10 years preceding the year of the award.  

How to apply: Application along with four copies of synopsis precisely enumerating research work done is to be submitted through proper channel. The PDF files of the best 10 papers emanating from the research work submitted for award are to be mailed to ags@faidelhi.org

2. Award for Outstanding Doctoral Research in Fertiliser Usage

 Nature of Award: Rs.1,00, 000/-, Gold Medal and Citation. 

Purpose of the Award: To motivate high quality fundamental or applied research amongst doctoral students in India in the field of fertiliser usage. 

Eligibility of the Award: All doctoral students in India whose theses have been accepted for the Ph.D. degree during April 2016 to March 2017 are eligible for the award. 

How to Apply:  Application is to be submitted through proper channel in the prescribed form along with four copies of the detailed summary of Ph.D research work done and a CD containing soft copy of thesis. The form can be downloaded from the FAI website (www.faidelhi.org).  

3. Award on Transfer of Improved Farm Technologies

 Nature of the Award: Trophy and Certificate. 

Purpose of the Award: To encourage and recognise innovative work on Transfer of Improved Farm Technologies by the fertiliser companies. 

Eligibility of the Award: All fertiliser companies in India are eligible for the award. The assessment shall be based on innovative work done in the field of Transfer of Farm Technology during the past 5 years preceding the year of award.  

How to Apply:  Application is to be submitted enclosing four copies of synopsis along with four sets of published literature on the innovative work done during the last 5 years.  

FAI COLLABORATIVE AWARDS

 4. IZA-FAI Award on Promoting the Use of Zinc in Indian Agriculture  

Nature of the Award: Rs.2,00,000/-, Gold Medal and Citation; instituted by International Zinc Association (IZA), Belgium and administered by The Fertiliser Association of India, New Delhi. 

Purpose of the Award: To encourage and recognise outstanding research & extension work done by the scientists/extension specialists for promoting use of zinc in Indian agriculture.  

Eligibility of the Award: All scientists/ extension specialists working in India are eligible for the award. The assessment shall be based on outstanding research and extension work done; and extension literature published & disseminated during the past 10 years preceding the year of the award.  

How to Apply: Application along with four copies of synopsis precisely enumerating the outstanding research & extension work done along with four sets of extension literature is to be submitted through proper channel. The synopsis should specify the extension activities viz. field demonstrations, farmers’ meetings, crop seminars, extension literature, Radio/TV talks to promote the use of zinc for increasing crop productivity and farmers profitability. 

5. IPI-FAI Award for Promoting Balanced and Integrated Fertiliser Use with Emphasis on Potassium (Biennial)

Nature of the Award: Rs.2,00,000/-, Gold Medal and Certificate; instituted by the International Potash Institute (lPl), Horgen, Switzerland and administered by The Fertiliser Association of India, New Delhi. 

Purpose of the Award: To encourage and recognise outstanding research & extension work done by the scientists/extension specialists for promoting balanced and integrated use of fertilisers with emphasis on potassium. 

Eligibility of the Award: All scientists/extension specialists working in India are eligible for the award. The assessment shall be based on outstanding research & extension work done and extension literature published & disseminated during the past 10 years preceding the year of award.  

How to Apply: Application enclosing four copies of synopsis enumerating the outstanding research & extension work done along with four sets of extension literature is to be submitted through proper channel. The synopsis should specify the extension activities viz. field demonstration, farmers meetings, crop seminars, extension literature, Radio / TV talks to promote balanced and integrated fertiliser use with emphasis on potassium.

6. Award on Production, Promotion and Marketing of Biofertilisers/Organic Fertilisers / City Compost

 Nature of the Award: Trophy and Certificate. 

Purpose of the Award: To encourage and recognise quality production, promotion and marketing of biofertilisers/Organic Fertilisers/City Compost. 

Eligibility of the Award:  All biofertilisers / organic fertilisers /city compost producing companies in India are eligible for the award.  The assessment shall be based on the information supplied by the company on the prescribed performa. 

How to Apply:  Application is to be submitted alongwith four sets of completely filled performa which can be downloaded from the website (www.faidelhi.org). 

7.  FAI Award on Application of ICT/ Digital Transactions in Agriculture

Nature of the award: Trophy and certificate  

Purpose of the award: To encourage and recognise innovative ICT initiatives / Digital Transactions aimed at improving farmer’s awareness/knowledge to increase crop yields and net returns. 

Eligibility of the award: All fertiliser companies (including their subsidiaries) in India are eligible for the award. Assessment shall be based on innovative ICT initiatives / digital transactions undertaken by a company in last 2 years. The ICT initiatives should focus on education/ extension system; value addition to agriculture including but not limited to market intelligence, availability and use of weather forecast; and/or educating farmers with knowledge for understanding and adoption of latest and improved farm practices.  

How to apply: Application is to be submitted enclosing four sets of synopsis enumerating about the basic criteria for ICT projects; Details of the systems/ projects; Technology used and its User-friendliness; Content and Monitoring of the system/project. Synopsis should also provide other details as scalability and replicability of the system/ICT project; recognitions and awards; sample case studies with contact details.    

8. FAI Award on Promotion and Marketing of Micronutrients

Nature of the Award: Trophy and Certificate 

Purpose of the Award: To encourage and recognise the best promoter and marketer of micronutrient fertilisers in India. 

Eligibility of the Award: All fertiliser companies (including their subsidiaries) and micronutrient and specialty fertiliser manufacturers in India are eligible for the Award. Assessment shall be based on marketing and business development efforts made by the company during the past 5 years.

How to Apply: Application is to be submitted enclosing six sets of synopsis enumerating the significant marketing and business development work done by the company in the field of micronutrients during the past 5 years. 

Last date of receiving the application for awards is 30th September, 2017.
